REH starter discussion — UK; use your own local tariff.
Compare the cost of useful heat, not the price of a kWh of gas and electricity on their own. For an illustrative comparison, divide the electricity unit rate by the heat pump’s seasonal performance, and divide the gas rate by the boiler’s efficiency. Use credible annual performance assumptions, then allow for hot water, servicing and any standing charges that genuinely disappear. The result is specific to your home and tariff.
Join the discussion: What annual heat demand and seasonal performance has your installer assumed?
Suggested next step: Ask each installer for the same annual running-cost comparison with assumptions shown.
