REH editorial starter discussion. Prepared by REH to invite genuine community replies. REH starter discussion — UK. Panels can generate in winter, but shorter days and lower sunlight reduce output. A strong annual forecast does not mean the same production each month. Ask for a monthly generation estimate and compare it with winter demand, especially if you heat your home electrically. Treat solar as a contribution to winter electricity use rather than a guarantee of independence from the grid. Join the discussion: For existing owners: what were your measured December and June generation figures for the same system? Suggested next step: Ask for monthly generation estimates alongside the annual total.
