REH editorial starter discussion. Prepared by REH to invite genuine community replies. REH starter discussion — UK. Yes. South-facing, unshaded roofs generally produce the strongest annual output, but east- and west-facing roofs can still be useful. Their generation arrives at different times of day. Ask an installer to model each roof section and any shading, then relate that forecast to when you use electricity. Roof condition and usable space matter as well as direction. Join the discussion: Which directions do your roof slopes face, and is there shading from trees or nearby buildings? Suggested next step: Arrange a roof suitability assessment before comparing system sizes.
