Better Energy Control is a family owned business which installs a range of renewable energy technologies to homes and businesses. We are based in Edinbugh but work throughout Scotland.
We exist to put our customers in better control of their own energy supply!
(BEC) was started in 2011 by Michael Hale following many years work in the oil and gas industry. There's nothing like watching thousands of gallons of oil flow past you every day to turn you to renewables! 
There are many issues surrounding fossil fuel energy supply, but the main one from the consumer perspective is lack of control. We are held to ransom over energy prices by multi-national companies who in turn are held to ransom by (often highly questionable) governments. Our goal as a company is to hand energy control to the user (hence the name!) and the best way to do this is through micro-generation renewable energy.
We are MCS accredited for supply and installation for solar pv, solar thermal, biomass and heat pumps. We wanted to install a wide variety of renewable systems because no two situations are the same. For one place, only solar pv will be necessary; for another, biomass and solar thermal will provide the best solution; for another, an air source heat pump with solar pv will work brilliantly. Some companies only recommend one type of system no matter what the situation because it is "what we do". We will never do this. We liaise with the customer and together work out what their requirements are then recommend a suitable system.
We particularly welcome enquiries from the asset managers of commercial premises who are looking at ways to bring down their energy costs. Not only can renewable energy massively cut down on a commercial premises but the commercial Feed-in Tariff and commercial Renewable Heat Incentive can make investing in renewables an excellent long-term investment to actually MAKE money!
We believe that every building in Scotland, large and small , can be made more energy efficient by utilising renewable energy in one form or another.
