LG Solar Panels

Solar Panels

There is an increasing demand for solar panels, and this open market caught the attention of LG – a big brand that specialises in technology. As a result, the company have developed three types of module:

  • Mono X
  • Mono X Black
  • Mono X Neon

LG panels are made from monocrystalline silicon, which is also the purest form of silicon. You can read more about monocrystalline silicon here, and for details about each module simply continue reading this page.

The production process

Each wafer that is created is carefully checked for faults. The cells are then linked together with strings by bussing ribbons so that they can meet the power output. Layers of glass are then placed on top of the solar cells in order to protect them from external damage. The panel is then protected against water damage, and the frame is then added. After this, the modules are tested for output performance. LG solar panels have been awarded the Top Brand PV Seal of Quality for Britain, Germany, and the Benelux Countries.

Features and Efficiency

The solar panels that are manufactured by LG offer an efficiency rating of up to 18.6%. LG has complete control over the quality of the solar cells produced because they manufacture the materials required for production themselves. After construction, the panels are tested against repeated changes in temperature (from high to low), and long-term humidity penetration. This ensures that the moisture caused by rain, fog, dew, or melted snow, does not enter active parts of the module. UV degradation and salt water also present a threat, so they are protected against this as well. The LG solar modules also come with an incredibly resistant frame. This frame also features water drainage so that the water that comes from rain cannot accumulate on top of the panel. All LG solar modules are also able to withstand heavy snow. The pressure test that the module was put through indicates up to 5,400pa of pressure that it can withstand. The modules created by LG were designed and manufactured to minimise damage caused by rain, snow, and sea air.
